چکیده

The most widespread and harmful disease of barley is net form blotch caused by the ascomycete Pyrenophora teres f. Drechsler (Ptt). A cost effective environmentally sustainable strategy for protection against Ptt to develop cultivars possessing genetic resistance. In previous GWA analysis, we identified SNP-markers associated with a resistance locus on chromosome 3H in interval 45.82–54.53 cM. These SNPs have been described previously literature be located within same region 3H. aim study was validate QTL markers controlling this KASP genotyping four F2 populations crosses between resistant cultivars, Morex, Fox, Zolo, accession, Local k-21578, susceptible cv. Identification and chromosomal location of major genes for resistance to Pyrenophora teres in a doubled-haploid barley population.

Net blotch, caused by Pyrenophora teres, is one of the most economically important diseases of barley worldwide. Here, we used a barley doubled-haploid population derived from the lines SM89010 and Q21861 to identify major quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with seedling resistance to P. teres f. teres (net-type net blotch (NTNB)) and P. teres f. maculata (spot-type net blotch (STNB)). A...

Spot Blotch, Net Blotch, and Stripe Disease of Barley

Spot blotch is caused by Helminthosporium sativum or H. sorokinianum = Drechslera sorokiniana (Bipolaris sorokiniana). The disease is widespread in Illinois and is believed to lower potential barley yields by 1 to 3 percent; also, the bushel weight. The causal fungus affects all parts of the plant and produces a variety of symptoms, from a seedling blight and root rot to “Black point” of the ke...

Fine Mapping of the Barley Chromosome 6H Net Form Net Blotch Susceptibility Locus

Net form net blotch, caused by the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Pyrenophora teres f. teres, is a destructive foliar disease of barley with the potential to cause significant yield loss in major production regions throughout the world. The complexity of the host-parasite genetic interactions in this pathosystem hinders the deployment of effective resistance in barley cultivars, warranting a deep...

Validation, Saturation, and Marker-Assisted Selection of Quantitative Trait Loci Conferring Adult Plant Resistance to Powdery

Powdery mildew caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici is one of the most devastating diseases in wheat (Triticum aestivum) worldwide. Hypersensitive, race specific genes primarily have been deployed to control the disease, however recent efforts have shifted to breeding for more durable resistance, such as ‘adult plant resistance’ (APR). Molecular markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL) a...

Mapping of quantitative trait loci associated with resistance to net form net blotch (Pyrenophora teres f. teres) in a doubled haploid Norwegian barley population

Barley net blotch caused by the necrotrophic fungus Pyrenophora teres is a major barley disease in Norway. It can cause grain shriveling and yield losses, and resistance in currently grown cultivars is insufficient. In this study, a set of 589 polymorphic SNP markers was used to map resistance loci in a population of 109 doubled haploid lines from a cross between the closely related Norwegian c...
